Sleeping Beauty

Our little Jillian is such a PRINCESS! She is so girly and "prissy"!
She insists on wearing a skirt or dress everyday. The skirt or dress
MUST TWIRL! If it does not twirl then we might as well give it away
because she will not wear it.lol Well, I couldn't resist taking these
pics of Jill-she fell asleep at 5:30 PM--right after dinner. Of course
she woke up around 8 o'clock and is wide awake now. Anyhow, she sure
was angelic while she napped in her fru fru "Cinderella dress" (she calls it that). On a sidenote...Sweet 3 3/4 yr old Jill is STILL sleeping in our bed which is taking a toll. We are trying to get her into her own bed--well tonite Jillian has snuck into her sister's bed. We typically put on some soft music as a bedtime ritual. Right now the girls are listening to spiritual music entitled "Greater than us All". I peeked in on them and they both have tears streaming down their cheeks as Jordan holds her baby sister in her arms and sings the words to the songs. What a moment--It's amazing how music can carry the spirit to our hearts. I do hope that they fall asleep soon though and the next time I go in to check on them...they will both be "sleeping beauties" together--and Jill will sleep there all nite and not migrate back to our bed. (fingers crossed)

Skinny

You know...I recently had a conversation with my best friend that after all these years of being overweight--I'm kinda comfortable in my skin. Well, NOT REALLY. I don't like looking in the mirror and not having energy, feeling 'frumpy'in my clothes. While I do wish there was a magic pill or something easy to accomplish this goal!--I know that there really is no other way to get healthy then to EXERCISE and Eat correctly. Now that I'm blogging this I am hoping that I will have some accountability to actually make some changes this summer. I came to this realization NOT when I saw a picture of myself looking badly but rather when I saw a picture that only showed half of myself and I had the thought..."wow, I actually look good in that pic!" So depressing and comical at the same time.
So, here is the fabulous pic of myself!...

Don't I look good with only half myself showing?

Valerie & Brandon's Wedding

So, we packed up and drove 11 hours thru the nite all the way to Bowling Green, Kentucky. Friday we spent most of the day helping with the setting up of the reception and playing on "the Farm" (60 acres of beautiful country). The kids enjoyed friendly big dogs and butterflies big tractors. Dave and I were in awe of Valerie's new home and family. We are so excited for her life and this marriage joining of such good families. Dave teased me that he was sorry that he wasn't a farmer because I kept going on and on on how wonderful Valerie's life is going to be. I REALLY LOVED Brandon and his FAMILY. They are just "Salt of the Earth". I couldn't be more glad for my sweet baby cousin--all grown up into a gorgeous compassionate woman. I hated for the weekend to end. The Wedding was PERFECT. A few little stresses leading up to the big moment...like..."where is Josh's tuxedo? (my little ring bearer) Dave had to speed to the mall and get it at the last minute. Anyhow, all and all it was such a beautiful experience to be with my family. My Aunt Kathy's family even became "mine". lol I bonded with Aunt Kathy's sisters. I just feel so very blessed to have been given the chance to spend this special time with my extended family. So, Here's to the BRIDE and GROOM!! I took 578 pictures of the wedding weekend! LOL Here's a few.

Here is the slideshow I made for my "myspace" page... some pics may be repeats

My Stress and Fear: PEACE, BE STILL

I tend to have anxiety when it comes to getting "everything" in order before a trip or when it comes to the household budget etc. I lie in bed this morning snoozing several times but just laying there awake praying asking the Lord to please help me with my tasks and my worries. I finally arose and woke the kids for school. After getting the kids to school 2 minutes late and spending my 75 cents on my morning Diet DP (big smile)...I come home to get on with my day. Of course I couldn't begin my work until I first checked my email and all my blog friends for news. I began reading my friend Ericka's past blog posts and it seemed so introspective and spiritually deep. As I sat there pondering,I was prompted to go to my scriptures.
I skimmed through the pages and openned to Mark chapter 4:37-41
"And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith? And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and sea obey him?
I know what manner of man is this--He is my Redeemer, my Savior, and I am so thankful this morning as tears stream down my cheeks for the loving and powerful answer to my prayers ..."Peace, be Still"

Jillian tried Tae Kwon Do

She's so cute! She tried hard--She had fun! Wish you could have seen her! You would have been quietly giggling like me and all the rest of the parents on the sidelines. In Tae Kwon Do they yell a "Kiyaaa" (however it spelled, that's how it sounds)-anyhow you will just have to imagine her little voice "Kiyaaa" with each strike. LOL Well, bye for now. I best be getting back to my PILES!

Neverending PILES

Oh the Laundry...why is this a mother's plight or is it just a woman's plight? I'm inviting everyone over to a "Folding Clothes Party!" It's true the old addage...A Mother's Work is Never Through! And of course, a Mother's work isn't just laundry.
We are going out of town this weekend to a wedding for my cousin Valerie AND I'm feeling overwelmed to FOLD-WASH MORE--FOLD AGAIN---PACK for 5 people---and in between that stuff--COOK--Take kids to their activities--like Karate and Cub Scouts and go to the All City Choir Mandatory Meeting for Jordan--PAY BILLS etc...I just can't believe all that needs to get done between NOW and Thursday! Thanks for letting me vent. I better get to my PILES!! LOL

Ahhh to be a Kid again...

How would it be to just play--have all your needs met and most of your wants---and just be a kid again!
