Super Student

Josh was awarded the "Super Student" honor for the last six weeks. Only 2 are chosen per grade per six weeks period! Josh was really excited that he was chosen!! We are so proud of him for doing so well in school. Right now he is learning a lot of songs on the RECORDER! He's learning "Amazing Grace" currently! He just passed off "When the Saints Go Marching In!" (I think it is so cool that in PUBLIC school he is learning those types of songs! maybe all is not lost!) He practices and practices--- so much so that the high pitched recorder can be a annoying to the rest of us! But he is dedicated to learning each song. I think he should go out for Band in middle school! :^) He's already a great guitarist on ROCKBAND!!!!

Trampoline Hopes

We got a trampoline about 7 or 8 years ago from Santa! The kids enjoyed it tremendously over the years but sadly last year... The mat got a tear and then some springs busted and then Dave got tired of mowing around it and so he dismantled it and put at the curb-- It was gone for scrap metal within hours!

So... because Jumping on the Tramp is great exercise and great FUN-- The kids and I have started saving for a new one! So far we have $37!

We are going to have a yard sale Saturday and with signs that say-- Please buy our stuff so we can buy a Trampoline!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I actually vowed never to have another yard sale again because last time-- people just want to buy stuff for a quarter and it's just not worth my time!-- AND I'd much rather give it to someone who could use it

HOWEVER.... A Trampoline is a worthy goal so I'll give the yard sale a shot!!

Wish me and the kids Luck-- Dave isn't excited about a trampoline at all! He hates the jungle of grass that grows UNDER it that HE has to Mow!!!!!!

OH WELL-- I hope we succeed! We've got HIGH TRAMPOLINE HOPES!

Sunday Bliss

It sure has been an amazing Sunday--

1st being able to go to church and listen to all the Testimonies that were shared and feel the Holy Spirit so strongly.

Then I was blessed to be able to spend time with the little children-- They're countenances are so innocent and pure as I look upon their little faces! I feel so blessed to have the "job" of teaching them songs of worship each week!

And after church is over-- my feet are tired and achy because I'm not used to wearing heels! My usual foot attire is flip flops or crocs-- But nonetheless, I come home and rest and relax with my beautiful family!

My talented husband is cooking an incredible meal-(I'm so thankful for the show Hell's Kitchen... because it has inspired my husband to be the chef of our house! I SO LOVE IT!) - I can smell that he just fired up the grill as I sit here blogging!

It is a great sabbath day! I think I will go to bed early so I can offset the 'Spring Forward Effect' of Daylight Savings!!

My Mega Busy Today

Ok--- I had to borrow busy clock man from Andrea-- she's tired of him anyways-- so she says!!

Choir Concert Last night-- Jordan says we are supposed to bring Breakfast for 34 kids to celebrate how well they did! BTW they were AWESOME-- better than all the rest of the middle schools in Gtown!!!...

Taking Elderly Lady to Grocery Store...

Buying, Wrapping, Organizing for 2 upcoming Birthday Parties...

Mapquest stuff so I don't get lost...

Go to 8:30pm Volleyball game-- Jordan playing and Dave COACHING!!!

Another Volleyball Game 9:30 pm --This time it's Dave's OTHER TEAM-- no Jordan's not on it! LOL...

Come Home to greet Sophia whose coming up from San Antonio and is hanging with us all weekend!

Oh and I somehow fit in blogging into my day-- WOW-- go figure!

No More Applesauce!

I am so so so tired of dang Applesauce!!! Jillian and I were recently members of a focus group where we sampled countless spoonfulls of applesauce and rated every facet of it!!

You see Jillian is actually a FANATICAL Applesauce eater! She LOVES it! That and popsicles! :) And I got this email about how if you have a 5-9 year old child with no allergies-- bring them to this applesauce sampling focus group and you earn $200!!! SOUNDED GREAT! I thought-- it's getting warmer-- the girls totally need a ceiling fan in their room-- and then I'd let Jillian get something cool--
*****Remember Josh did an allergy study last fall and earned $350 and bought a Wii!!

WELL turns out-- She and I BOTH had to do the sampling! I guess the deal is-- Motts is coming out with this new product --- "It's 1 serving of fruit and vegetable but the taste is.... Simply Fruit!" Oh yeah-- I had rate that little slogan over and over again about how well I feel the slogan represents that particular ORANGY TANGY BABYFOOD LOOKING LIKE applesauce I was tasting for the hundredth time!
Like... Based on the looking only at the applesauce how would rate the applesauce

OVER AND OVER with the Texture, Color, Taste, How it feels in your mouth, Feeling in your mouth after you swallow---- On and On and On!

Well, Good thing it is done! We earned the $200 bucks--- poor Jilly thought the whole time we were sampling and answering the survey questions that we were in a COMPETITION-- at the end they called about 5 Parent/Child teams to continue into another conference room for a few final questions while the rest of were done-- (I was glad we weren't chosen! But... I looked down at Jillian and she had tears streaming down her face and she said... "you mean we didn't win???" Poor Jill-- I explained-- YES WE WON! Everyone WINS here! We all earned the money!

So....

Jillian is in Purple ipod HEAVEN!!! LOL

And... Surprisingly she is still asking for applesauce today even after the marathon sampling we did! Not me though-- the smell and sight of it make me nauseous! LOL

BUT... I can't wait for the next moneymaking focus group or research study that comes along!! LOLOLOLOL
